Information on the examination date
The exact date will be announced in time in the StudOn course, usually it takes place on an evening in the second to last or last regular lecture week of each semester at FAU. Registration for the exam via the vhb-homepage is mandatory (this is seperate from the course registration). The deadline to enroll for the exam is also announced in StudOn. This only applies to FAU students: Please also register via campo, this helps us to facilitate the grading vastly (examination number 43611).
Certificate of Achievement:
Every non-FAU student that passes the written exam will receive a graded certificate of achievement via mail (so please make sure to inform us of any address changes) in German (and in English if needed). This achievement certificate can be handed in to the examination office of your home university in order to credit this course to your student account. Please make sure that you are eligible to credit this course in the first place.
ECTS points:
FAU students receive 5 ECTS points for this course. Students of the consortium universities University of Bamberg and TH Deggendorf receive 6 ECTS points, due to different grading schemes. Students from other universities receive 5 ECTS points.
Duration of the course:
In summer terms: from April to July; in winter terms: from October to February (the exact dates are shown on the vhb-course portal). The study of the material takes place entirely on the students‘ own initiative and in completely free time management. Apart from the exam, there are no other attendance dates.
Course description:
The course „International Logistics and Distribution Systems“ offers a comprehensive introduction and in-depth study of the field of international transport logistics and its related topics. The planning, management, execution and control of transportation processes still make up the largest proportion of all logistics services today. The importance of transport logistics is not expected to decline in the foreseeable future, especially in view of the increasing international interdependence of services.
For these reasons, the aim of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive overview of international transportation in logistics.
